At the end of September 2025, the 8th Türkiye–Azerbaijan Turkish Film Days took place in Baku under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan. The event served as a significant platform to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and promote Turkish cinema on the international stage.

From September 26 to 30, leading directors, actors, and producers of contemporary Turkish cinema presented their works to audiences across various festival venues. Among the distinguished guests was Karina Mia Satlykova, founder of Kunay Film. Satlykova was specially recognized for her contributions to the development of Turkish cinema and the international success of her film Şımarık (Son of a Rich).
The film, which achieved major success on Netflix and was sold to over 90 countries, was included in the festival program as a prime example of a Turkish production with global potential. Screenings took place at one of Baku’s most prominent cinemas, Nizami Kino Mərkəzi, on September 28 and 30, attracting significant attention from both audiences and industry professionals.

“It is a great honor for us to represent Turkish cinema on such an important platform. This success is the result of our team’s collective effort and a testament to how our stories resonate with audiences around the world,” said Karina Mia Satlykova.

The inclusion of Şımarık (Son of a Rich) in the festival and the recognition of its producers marked an important milestone in Kunay Film’s international journey, once again highlighting the growing interest in modern Turkish projects and high-quality adaptations that unite audiences from different countries.
